Route information
Experience awe-inspiring ocean views and feel the cool breeze coming off the waves in this ocean-side running event. Runners can choose from 4 different race distances, and with the course being flat and fast, it truly is a perfect event for racers of all abilities.
All races will start at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground and head north on bike paths up the Pacific Coast Highway. The whole race will be on the ocean side of the road, providing runners with incredible views of sun-dappled waves for the entirety of the course. All races will also be out and back routes, with well-marked designated turning points for each distance.
The Full Marathon will be two loops of the Half Marathon route. Please remain to the right of the path at all times to make room for runners coming toward you.
The course is incredibly flat, which offers runners the perfect opportunity to set a new personal record, with full marathon runners even being provided the chance to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
After the race, celebrate your success in style with friends, family, and fellow runners with a free glass of beer (root beer for under 21 year olds) and a plate of street tacos at the post race expo.
Virtual Runners
Runners can choose to enter the event virtually. All you need to do is complete the race distance on your own, send us your finisher pic and time, the organiser will send you your race day swag.

Difficult navigating website. They put me under the 40-49 age range but should’ve been in 70+ age range. No way to contact organization.

The lack of cups was a huge pain, slowed everyone down, then at the end you gave out plastic water bottles which didnt make any sense because you we’re supposed to be going green

Registration was terrible. My 13 year old son's, name was spelled wrong when he transferred the bib and made him a 39 year old female. This was his first half marathon and I have a bad record of his results. Mistakes happen but I also emailed asking for it to be changed. 2 weeks later not changed. Will not be running this event in the future.

This was a great experience and this course had a GREAT scenery. I just wished the lane closest to the bike path was closed during the race for the SAFETY of the runners. If that one lane was closed I would have given 5 stars. Other than that safety aspect the race was awesome.

I knew it was a smaller race which is great... yet I thought that the planning of the water stations was poor. I would have expected more Gatorade and at least some gels or bananas. They all ran out early in the race. Having nutrition during a race is essential. It is often hard to gage due to weather etc.I also expect more photographers as e had a beautiful run and the pictures were taken on a path.... the route was beautiful and the pictures did not even come close to capturing that.

Great local race! Everything was easy from packet pickup to aid station water. 10/10 would recommend to racers looking for a well organized laid back event.
