Route information
The Edinburgh Holyrood course is set in the amazing grounds of the Royal Park in the centre of Edinburgh. The route starts and finishes on the field adjacent to Holyrood Palace and runs around Arthur’s Seat, taking in beautiful views across Edinburgh, with one large incline. This event is mainly on footpaths.

The start is on the open grass area next to Holyrood Palace, adjacent to Queen’s Drive. Please arrive 1 hour before start time.
There are no car parks near the event area. Please use the city center car parks and allow plenty of time before the start. There will be a lot of road closures on the event day so please plan your route allowing enough time before the event starts. The drop off point is outside the Parliament Building on Horse Wynd.

Did the race in 2019
This was my first ever race! I loved every part of it! And already looking to do my next fundraiser run.I decided in November last year that I was going to take part in the race for life in June, in memory of my dear friend who lost her battle to stage 4 aggressive breast cancer at such an incredibly young age, 29. It was an emotional day for me. I ran alongside others like me, who were grieving their Loss, holding onto Hope for their fighters, and showing unbelievable Courage for/as survivors. I ran with tears in my eyes as I watched runners support each other, encouraging each other. I saw the pain, relief, grief and happiness in their faces as we all reached our finish points. I had tears of admiration and pride for every single person there. I am Proud of every one of us! #10K#RaceForLife#June23#MakeEmProudMy advice would be - go for it! Whether you walk, jog or run, we are all around to encourage you to just keep going! We are all there for the same reasons!
