ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION:

Registration will be open from 8.00am and will close at 9.50am so please arrive nice and early.

PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event.

Race information will be sent by email pre-event and all your race details can be found within your online profile. Once registered login to check race updates, news, partner offers and more.

You will be using our Chip on Bib race numbers and it is important these are displayed on your outer garment to ensure 1) we can see your race number when running and 2) to help with the timing system to read your time.

Bag storage is available at the event, however space is limited so travel as lightly as possible.

Toilets will be within the event hub and ensure you go with plenty of time to spare to avoid long queues.

Coffee and snacks will be available for sale within the event hub.

THE EVENT:

Please note that the the 5k and 10k are being set off together. We ask that faster runners come in first to the start line and we will do our best to call in runners by predicted time. Please help us as much as possible as this will help all runners be set in the right place at the start based on run pace.

There will be marshals around the course to support and encourage you.

Please take care when running around the course as this is public land and local residents will be out and about. Please always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.

If wearing headphones please make sure you can hear other people around you and marshal instructions.

Water will be available at the start and finish as well as at the 5k section for 10k runners. Please note we are working on being as environmentally friendly as possible and will not have bottled water, only cupped water. If you require a bottle whilst running, please do bring your own.

AFTER THE EVENT:

Everyone will receive a medal and there are also a few trophies that are up for grabs.

Results will be displayed on our Results Base Timing screen, so after crossing the finish line you can check out your instant results. These go live to our website and you will receive an email update once the race is over.

Volunteers

Our Fix Events are made possible by the great team that work with us.

Your role will be to marshal on the course or help within the event hub giving participants plenty of support and encouragement. And as a volunteer you will get free entry to any Fix Events. That’s one free event for every time you volunteer (if you want!) We hope to hear from you soon.

FAQs

Can I register on the day of the event?

This is possible only if the event isn’t sold out. This will be stated on the event website prior to race day.

How do I know if I am registered?

You will receive an email confirming your entry. If a friend or colleague has entered as long as they have used your email address in the entry you will receive confirmation.

Will I receive race information in the lead-up to my event?

Email updates prior to your event will be sent out and you can view all event details, news and offers by logging in to your user profile.

Will I be chip timed?

Yes, all events (unless otherwise stated) are chip timed! In most cases you will use disposable race chips. You need to ensure you put these correctly on your shoe (race instructions will be given via email and this info is on your event information page on your event page).

Can I find the race number list prior to the event?

Yes, your event race list will be online approximately a week prior to your event. Please make a note of your race number and that of friends as you will collect your race pack on the morning of the run.

What happens if I don't receive my race email?

If you don’t receive your race email it may be because the wrong email address was entered or the race email went in to your junk mail so please check carefully. All information can be found by logging in to your user profile and your race number will show within this account area.

Can I enter a team?

Absolutely! Get as many friends, family or colleagues together and run as a team. You are not required to run together and each person will receive their own time, however it's just fun to run under a team name.

Can I run with a buggy?

Yes, this is typically OK for most locations, however please check the run route course as some locations can be a mix of path, trail, grass so not always suitable for running with a buggy. Also please try and stay to the left as much as possible to give room to other runners.

Overall really great race for the first one of the year, relativity flat course great for people who are looking for a nice calm one to start the year off.Bit of a mix up with numbers but one quick email and it was all rectified and sorted within the hour after the race

Great run. Definitely has got PB potential. Only entered because I was going to be in the area when the race was going on. Im glad I did.

Awesome event....I got there at 8am (I like to be early) and its was set up ready to go...the team were super helpful and friendly and well organised! Checking in and getting my race number was quick and easy and the announcer kept it interesting while we waited to start. The race itself was a nice easy 10k with plenty of support and loads of Marshall cheering you on. Crossing the finish line was awesome as the announcer made a fuss if everyone and it was straight into your medal and goodie bag. A great winter warmer race and highly recommended. Only thing I would say is more toilets please...everyone wants to empty their bladder just before a race and 12 loos for a thousand people isn't quite enough...good job the river was only 20 yards away!! Great work team ...thankyou!

The weather certainly lived up to the race name being at -3C! Great course (I got a PB); plus Im loving the new snood - Thanks!
  • Did the 10K in 2019

Great small scale organised run around the beautiful Bute Park/Cooper's field area of Cardiff. Very well organized although as it is a public area some of the river crossing points were a little congested. Also start was very congested not sure people listened to the advice for faster runners to start 1st. Didn't stop me getting a PB over 10k. The course is nice and flat. Would definitely compete again in this event.

Very well organized event with such a great atmosphere. Marshalls were cheering all the course. Totally recommended
  • Did the 10K in 2019

I really enjoyed the race and the scarf/running snood was a very welcome addition to my running kit on that chilly morning in Cardiff. The run takes place in the lovely setting on Butr Park with views of the castle, the stadium and river. The event organisation was great and they ensured that the course has been treated with grit. It was really easy to pick up my number and the warm up at the start helped motivate me. I ran a PB too
