Course Details

The event is not designed to be a gruelling cross country through deep mud and puddles, but aims to be a fun, friendly and fast trail run along one of England’s most historic courses.

The official cut off time to complete the Half Marathon event is 3 hours 30 minutes, making the event achievable, even if you decide to mix walking with jogging along the course.

Drinks & Feed Stations will be located at kms 6, 11, 16 & 21 where participants can pick up some energy and quench their thirst.

Race Registration

Race Registration is located by the Main Tent Village in Temple Island Meadows.

When you arrive on site please see one of the registration staff in the main marquee who will give you your race number, timing chip & any other details.

1. Race number to be worn on the front. This will aid event officials to identify you, plus allow our official time
keepers to track you around the course.

2. Depending on the number of competitors, you may be asked to have your race number written on your hand.Staff will write your number in marker that washes off skin.

3. Timing chip. This is supplied with a Velcro band to secure to your ankle. DO NOT WEAR THE TIMING CHIP ON YOUR WRIST! ONLY TO BE WORN ON YOUR ANKLE. Timing chips systems are used at all of our events, but you will be notified on the day of the event if there has been a technical problem. Alternatively, you might be informed that the timing chip will be disposable and already stuck to your event number.

We hope that our onsite facilities, commentary and music provide plenty to keep other halves and little ones entertained, ensuring a day out for all the family while you run.

great course with good views and a couple of hills, Henley a nice place for the day. really enjoyed.

I very much the run. I was dreading it because this is the first time I am part of a race alone and hadn't done for 13 years. But I loved it and despite the achy legs, I was already thinking about doing another one. lol

Beautiful location. Easy to get to although signage was not great once you got to the key places in Henley. Easy to get race numbers and really useful pre race talk. The route itself was enjoyable. It was a nice mix of path, trail, grass and stone which made it challenging but not overly hard. The hills and inclines from mile 9 were quite hard and maybe could have been incorporated more evenly for the half route. Not keen on the double back as this meant runners going both out and back which led to a need to stop at times. Brilliant water and fuel stops and an abundance of gels available. It seems that every half has the longest last 2 miles that seems to go on forever! Very nice post race water and snacks in good amounts. Simplistic beverage service that meant a quick turnaround post race which was great. WellOrganised and marshalled. There was a potential to take a wrong turn at some points but not a significant issue. I really enjoyed this and would recommend if you want a small challenge but not a beast of a half of 10k.
  • Did the Half Marathon Trail Run in 2019

Henley is a nice place to run but generally wasnt impressed with the following elements of the race:That the 10k race started just behind the half marathon so 1.5 miles in they all came charging past on a narrow path and we were told to keep out of their way. That there was an out and back section and again the quicker runners had to try to get past us on a narrow path (probably more annoying for them than us)Sign posting was a bit irregularSome of the sections of road werent properly marshalled (I.e. Marshall not helping us across the road through fairly heavy traffic)Part at the end on the path along the river - too busy, race would have been better going in the opposite direction - had to contend with many cyclists, dog walkers, families etcUnfortunately would not do it again for these reasons.

The marshals were lovely. Really supportive. For a small event there was a great atmosphere. It would have been nice not to pass the finish line with 2k to go, but a beautiful course. Thank you
  • Did the Half Marathon Trail Run in 2019

Great first half marathon! Only thing was that we had to pass the finish line while we were about 2km away. Thought it was a bit of a tease.
  • Did the Half Marathon Trail Run in 2018

Course isnt marshalled so you just follow the person in front, the person at the front follows a guy on a bike. Organisation was a shambles, join the toilet queue early as this was enormous as not many loos provided. Course is mainly flat, out and back lovely countryside with a very steep hill towards the end.
  • Did the Half Marathon Trail Run in 2018

Beautiful course but lacks proper signage and insufficient marshals throughout the route. More facilities needed at the start/finish.
  • Did the Half Marathon Trail Run in 2018

Beautiful course, highly recommend. Lacked basic organisation though. Timing chip wasn't as per the information we'd been given, PA system didn't work so 10k and half marathon runners didn't know where they needed to be (started in different places). Started 15 minutes late so needed to use the loo by the time we set off. Lead rider tried to give brief to runners but didn't even have a loud haler (even park run can do that!). Water stops not well manned, people queuing for water and stewards kept putting their hands into the bucket to get the water out, not very hygenic. Very few Marshalls out on route (only a couple) and route very badly signed; at 10 miles lots of runners got lost as there was just one arrow pointed across a few fields but no path across and no clear exit. Relying on following other runners but can't tell if they are going wrong. Race distance also came up short.Feel the organisers cash in on the location but much better planning needed.
