Route information
Instead of hurtling down the near-vertical hill chasing after a block of cheese and being crushed at the bottom, you will be doing the opposite. Attempt to run, jog or walk to the top of the infamous Cheese Rolling Hill, where many 9lb Double Gloucester Cheese have rolled before you. The hill will be rather muddy so wear suitable footwear such as trail shoes. There is also a kids mile available too.
At the summit, take in the enchanting views below. Follow the undulating marked route along Cotswold Way and conserve your energy on the route as you will have to summit the hill a second time to finish.

Fab day! the only thing was that there were not enough arrows so we kept getting lost.

The course was good, nice spot, but the signage could have been better. I was going steady so was not after a PB, but if someone was after a PB, not having clear signs could slow a runner's time. Also a few marshalls along the course for first aid etc would be useful, tree roots were hidden beneath the leaves and with the wet weather the course route could be slippy. The medal said 5 miles, but the course was more 10k. Maybe have an accurate mileage next time, especially if runners are being timed. The organisers were lovely and the atmosphere was good. Registration was easy, nice walk (warm up) to the start. I would participate in the race again and have already recommend the race to others, who loved the medal design.

Brilliant event with a lovely crowd! A beautiful route with some lovely downhills as well as the ups!A couple of pieces of feedback - the 'start line' wasn't very obvious. We only knew we'd started because the tracker beeped. It didn't matter too much because the event was nice and informal! Perhaps have a few more arrows next time. There were a couple of points where some runners missed a turning which either became a detour or a short cut!

Amazing course, beautiful surroundings! Real sense of achievement reaching the top of the climb (both times).Occasionally difficult to spot the arrows so had to run back uphill to get back on track.

Fantastic run in beautiful surroundings although the arrows could have been a little clearer, especially with my poor sense of direction! Great day and highly recommended

Loved the race. Not sure of the rolling start though as I think it did mean a certain lack of atmosphere and I was running on my own for the vast majority of the course. A few more arrows or marshalls would’ve been good too as there were a couple of pints where it wasn’t immediately clear which way to go. A beautiful course though. Tough but achievable. I was on such a high for the rest of the day!

Loved it, wished I’d known I could bring my dog - notes for next time!V pretty course and we were so so lucky with the weatherMy only issue was that Marshall’s were v thin on the ground - of course only as issue when you need one as my friend did when she went over on her ankle. All sorted in the end tho

Really good, really tough event. very complicated route which was well marked out. You definitely needed to keep your wits about you and look out for the arrows or keep with other runners. Everyone was friendly during the race and encouraged each other along. The start and finish on the world famous 'cheese roll' hill was of course very tough. The weather was superb too, but even in the rain it would be OK because it is sheltered through the woods ALL the way. FAB! Very clever and interesting course. All in all great fun and a race i would love to do again. The

Loved it but would’ve liked to have seen more yellow arrows. Had to stop quite a few times (as did others) to work out where the route was going. Beautiful fun route with a great atmosphere.
