Distance: 69k (43 miles)

Experience some of Scotland's finest landmarks with this ultramarathon and team relay event based around the Firth of Forth. The 69k/43 mile route will take runners on a circular course around the estuary, starting and finishing at Helix Park in Falkirk.
Runners will be able to cross both iconic Forth Bridges and experience the well-known Scottish trails, the Fife Coastal Path and the John Muir Way, with navigation required along the way-marked route. This is a mixed terrain course, although it is relatively flat and fast, run mainly along tarmac or hard paths, with only 15% of the course being trail.
There are 4 checkpoints located along the route providing water and snacks, and the event has an 11-hour time limit.
  • Stage 1 - 9.85 miles / 15.85 km – Helix Park, Falkirk to Culross (checkpoint 1)
  • Stage 2 - 14.83 miles / 23.89 km – Culross – Ferry Muir Gate, Forth Road Bridge (checkpoint 2)
  • Stage 3 – 10.22 miles / 16.43 km – Ferry Muir Gate to Boness (checkpoint 3)
  • Stage 4 – 8.11 miles / 13.05km – Boness to the Helix (Finish)

By Car
Helix Park lies just off of the M9 between Bannockburn and Linlithgow. It is a short drive from the centre of Falkirk.
Parking
There will be plenty of free parking available within or around a 1 km walk of the start/ finish area depending on where you choose. For those arriving early, there are 70 free spaces 500m up from the Helix Park. Thereafter, there are additional spaces at the Kelpies car park which is free for those parking before 10 am, and the main event car park at the Falkirk College.

The closest train station is Falkirk Grahamston, which is 1.4 miles away from Helix Park.

There are no specific entry requirements for this race, however you should have confidence in your ability to complete the distance within the cut-off time. By entering the race, you are agreeing you are capable of doing so. For solo entrants, it is suggested that you at least have experience of regularly completing runs of 20 miles.
