Distance: Approximate - 16 miles
Elevation: Approximate - 2700ft
Terrain: Hill peaks, field, paths and trails. Inclines and uneven terrain, gates, stiles, stepping stones and road crossings. Some spots on the route could be quite uneven on the foot and quite boggy at times.
This guided trail run is a 16 mile route around the beautiful Charnwood countryside. You will tackle Bardon Hill (Leicestershire’s highest point)-278 meters, Old John in Bradgate-254 meters and Beacon Hill-248 meters. Along the way you will pass, gnarled oak trees, some of the oldest rocks in Britain, visit historic deer parks and take in some spectacular views.
Charnwood Forest is famed for its craggy hills and dry stone walls, but is also rich in wildlife. Look out for buzzards circling on the updrafts from the hills. This guided run will approximately take between 3-5 hours with plenty of time to soak in the views and take photos
