I enjoyed it the weather and location was lovely. The only problem was that the majority of 5km runners took the wrong route so the signs were insufficient. However at the end when it was pointed out the organisers/Marshalls didn’t seem concerned.

I really enjoyed this run. To date the most beautiful scenic route I ran a half marathon :) Small and friendly, organised by very nice, likeminded people. Will definitely run with It's Grim Up North again!

I think the event was let down by problems over parking, lack of marshalling and a late set up. It was, however, a glorious day and the scenery was spectacular. I enjoyed it.

Course was diverted due to work on the canal, which wasn’t mentioned in the pre race briefing. Cricket club car park was locked when we got there and had to find alternate. But It’s Grim events are really great and I’ll definitely do it again.

This was a rural Half Marathon - mostly on canal towpath. Several different distances on same day with staggered starts. About 60 entrants in the HM. Beautiful setting, one stretch is uphill then on trail, but several miles are on good quality towpath.

I enjoyed it, but unfortunately the first event- the 5km- was spoilt by the signage not being clear at the 1 km mark. The leaders went on to the towpath instead of staying on the road. Most people followed , going the wrong way and so turned around at a dead end and ending up running a shorter distance. There was a sign at the 1 km mark to stay on the road, but there also needed to be a keep right sign by the gate to the towpath to stop people going that way. The event normally goes down this towpath and the instructions before the start were to stay near the canal. The entry cost of £24 is high and I know some people have been training a long time for this. The signage needs to be crystal clear for people who don't know the route and are making a quick decision on which way to go.

A little disappointed. Car park was closed when we arrived, and confusion on the 5k route, the closure should have been mentioned in the briefing,-there was no mention of running on the road. And Id been told of fabulous goody bags but there wasn't one?The medal is nice though! Not sure i felt it was good value for £16 .
