Explore Redditch and its Kingfisher Trail with this family-friendly 10k event. Starting and finishing in Redditch town centre, this closed road route will take you a fantastic loop through Arrow Valley Country Park and the surrounding suburban streets. The route will be well marked and marshalled throughout so need to worry about getting lost.
Beginning on Alcester Street, the route heads towards the River Arrow for the first 2k. Runners will cross the river and head into the open space of Arrow Valley Country Park, hugging the river bank as they weave round Arrow Valley Lake. The 5k mark sees the route exit the Country Park, following Blacksoils Brook before turning left into the suburbs of Redditch.
The route continues along Church Hill Way, past the Middle School and back through the Arrow Valley Country Park, where runners will pass the 8k point. The final stretch of the course takes participants past Abbeydale Playing Fields, back into the centre of Redditch to complete the 10k loop.
This run will be mostly flat, making it the perfect event for those new to 10k racing or those looking to achieve a new PB.
