The new event that’s taking Scotland by storm, now into its sixth year it’s a great fun event. Enter as an individual or as a relay team. Run one mile carrying a 20kg bag for men and a 10kg bag for the ladies and even take home your bag of tatties!

Route information
It's a short distance race - just one mile - but there is a twist. Participants are expected to carry a bag of potatoes! Men are asked to haul a 20kg bag (just over three stones in old money) and women 10kg at the 'Great Scottish Tattie Run.'
You'll be running along the Silverknowes Promenade so it will be a perfectly flat mile.
'Spud and Spoon Race'
- 12 - 14yrs - 200m
- 9 - 11yrs - 200m
- 6 - 8yrs - 100m
- 6yrs and under - 50m
Relay Team
You can get a group of 4 together and race in a relay, each member of the team running 400m each. All team members will get a medal and the winning team will receive The Great Scottish Tattie Relay Cup.

How many potatoes will I be running with at The Great Scottish Tattie Run?
You'll run with either a 10kg or 20kg bag of spuds. Male runners will take the heavier 20kg and female runners 10kg. Children will run with just 1 potato.
What can I take home after The Great Scottish Tattie Run?
You'll get to take home your finisher's medal as well as the bag of potatoes you run with!
